Politexpert: There is no religious crisis in Ukraine. There is an attempt to destroy our Church

Of all Ukrainian churches only the Ukrainian Orthodox Church can contribute to the settlement of the situation in the East of Ukraine and social reconciliation, says on his Facebook page journalist and political commentator Viacheslav Pikhovshek.

"The moment the war ceases, the high mission of the Church will be realized – to reconcile the parties of the conflict, as far as possible, how the Lord governs. No one except our Church, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, headed by Onufriy, Metropolitan of Kiev and All Ukraine, Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Archimandrite of the Holy Dormition Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, can solve this problem. Other denominations or those who for their own reasons consider himself religious organizations will not be accepted by the people in the East of Ukraine," the journalist explained.

"For two years of war the Church has held its position. The Church can be blamed for not acting strongly and speaking out clearly. Forgetting, omitting and ignoring that its responsibility is prayer, and its work – with the believers. I do not want anyone to have the right to say after the war ends that the Church has betrayed its faithful," added Pikhovshek.

"There is no religious crisis in Ukraine. There is an attempt to destroy our Church. Watching it, I cannot be silent, for it is a sin, I hope it is clear," says the political expert.
