Brethren of Kiev-Pechersk Lavra gifted orphanage with icon and piano
Within a charitable program “Help Orphan Children” brethren of Kiev-Pechersk Lavra of the Holy Dormition donated charitable help and a piano to the family-like orphanage. It is reported by the Lavra site.
At the charitable festival “God’s Children” which was held in Kiev at the beginning of June under the patronage of Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, little residents of the orphanage requested the brethren to gift them with a piano for their music and singing lessons. The Lavra’s brethren responded to this request and students of Kiev seminaries delivered the instrument.
The brethren also brought the children an icon of the Most Holy Mother of God with the depicted Venerables Anthony and Theodosius of the Kiev Caves, spiritual literature, various sweets, fruit and cherry juices, a child scooter, stationery, coloring books, dolls for girls. The orphans thanked the brethren and asked to visit them more often.
As a reminder, the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra of the Holy Dormition is implementing a charitable program “Help Orphan Children”. The brethren ask to donate footwear, clothes, foodstuffs, medicines, stationery, hygiene items, household cleaning goods, and funds to the smallest persons under care of the Social Department.
