Rivne region authorities promise UOC to deal with church seizures
June 27, a meeting of representatives of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the diocese of Rivne with the head of the regional state administration Alexei Muliarenko on the seizure of the church in Duliby village, Goshcha district, took place, reports the website of the diocese.
Metropolitan Bartholomew of Rivne and Ostrog and representatives of the diocese discussed with the governor the ways to resolve the situation. The governor promised to do everything possible for his part to stop seizures of churches in Rivne region.
Recall that on June 26 in the village of Duliby, Goshcha district, representatives of the Kiev Patriarchate broke into the Nativity of the Virgin Church during the morning service, disrupted it and began to roughly push the faithful of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church out of the church. These actions were accompanied by foul language and insults. As a result, a number of parishioners were affected during the clashes. The fact of injuries was recorded by the police. Now the church is closed and vacated from the raiders.
