UOC diocese of Kiev helps to buy medical equipment for "Okhmatdet"
During the charity campaign "The Warmth of the Sun of Truth", the Ukrainian Orthodox Church raised more than 25,000 hrn. on a para-infrared spectrometer for the Kiev Hospital "Okhmatdet", reports UNIAN.
"Last year, the volunteers of St. Luke (Voino-Yasenetsky) Charitable Fund agreed on the acquisition of this machine. But it was provided by a medical firm on a prepayment basis. The company put the doctors in a position where they had to pay a deposit or the machine was taken away. Then we helped. In the future, we plan to initiate similar events to help doctors buy up the machine," said rector of Jerusalem Mother of God Church Dmitry Garchuk.
According Fr. Dmitry, his community raised funds together with parishioners of Pochaev Mother of God Church for three months. The total cost of the equipment is 24, 000 euros.
According to the head of the Synodal Department of the UOC for Social and Humanitarian Issues Archpriest Vladislav Dikhanov, such charity events are important for the salvation of not only children but also adults. "Today, in the society there are too many factors that separate people, and compassion is a feeling that very quickly and strongly unites us all," said Archpriest Vladislav Dihanov.
Recall that a para-infrared spectrometer helps to diagnose disorders of the brain functions in infants.
