All-Ukrainian Cross Procession is Advancing towards Kiev
Within the All-Ukrainian Cross Procession thousands of believers continue their journey to the capital, where on 27 July, on the Eve of the Rus Christening, they will proceed with prayer along the city center. It is reported by the UOC Awareness-Raising Department.
On 14 July the pilgrims who departed from the Sviatogorsk Lavra, were covering the 87th kilometer of the itinerary Poltava – Reshetilovka – Velikaya Bagachka, whereas numerous believers who are going from the Pochaev Lavra, were moving along Khmelnitskiy region from Shepetovka to Polonnoye.
On 13 July, upon the blessing of Met. Philipp of Poltava and Mirgorod, there were held festivities in the honor of Gorbanevskaya icon of Godmother. The celebration was a part of the All-Ukrainian Cross Procession – thousands of the faithful were praying during the Divine Liturgy and then went in a cross procession to the holy well in Gorbanevka where the moleben service was conducted for peace in Ukraine.
At the border of Kharkov and Poltava regions His Eminence Philipp together with the local clergy and numerous believers met the miraculous image of Sviatogorsk Godmother’s icon, carried by the pilgrims, and delivered the sanctity to Poltava for the parish to worship it.
The pilgrims with Pochaev icon of Godmother, in their turn, are covering distance of 25 km from Shepetovka to Polonnoye. Early in the morning bishop of Shepetovka and Slavuta Eusebius conducted a worship service in Shepetovka, after which he led the Cross Procession under the specified route.
The quantity of the Procession participants amounted to 1200 people. The priests who were accompanying the Procession tell the pilgrims are supported by the believers from the UOC Chernovtsy diocese – residents of vlg. Storozhinets, Tisovets, Velikiy Kuchurov, Kamennoye supplied the participants with foods.
It is to be reminded that on 12 July nearly 10 thousand people gathered in order to take part in a Cross procession in Odessa.
