Kiev City Council will not ban the Cross Procession
Kyiv council deputies did not prohibit the Cross Procession in Kiev on 27 July. Having considered the request of the deputy of the "People's Front" Andrei Levus to ban the Cross procession, after officials rejected it after heated discussion, reports anticor.com.ua.
Some deputies demanded that the city council secretary Vladimir Prokopiv apply to the court to prohibit the religious procession in the capital. However, having heard the opinion of the head of the chief of the SSU in Kiev, Prokopiv abandoned the idea.
In particular, the representative of the Security Service of Ukraine has asked not to escalate tension and said that such cross processions take place annually. The reason for the hype around Cross Procession-2016 he called the media and the politicians themselves.
Recall, a member of the parliamentary faction "People’s Front" Andrei Levus applied to the mayor of Kiev Vitali Klitschko with a request to prohibit the All-Ukrainian Cross Procession in Kiev.
