Police did not allow OUN members to put up tents to protest against Cross Procession

The police did not allow the activists of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN), intending to prevent access of the Cross Procession to Kiev, to set up tents on the Zhitomir highway, reports Radio Svoboda.

The leader of the public organization "OUN" Nikolai Kokhanovsky said that the police prevented the activists to pitch tents on the roadside of the 19-kilometer highway Kiev-Zhitomir.

However, the nationalists were left in place, using sleeping bags for the night. According to Kokhanovsky, there is already a working field kitchen on the spot, and the OUN activists intend to meet the Cross Procession on July 25th.

Earlier OUN activists have already stated their intention to keep members of the All-Ukrainian Cross Procession out of Kiev.
