Archimandrite Viktor (Kotsaba) calls on the faithful to come earlier for a prayer service on July 27
The All-Ukrainian Cross Procession, its east and west branches, will meet in European Square, before ascending the Vladimir Hill at 12:30 on 27 July, said the head of the Kyiv Metropolis Administration of the UOC Archimandrite Viktor (Kotsaba) during a press conference of the Komsomolskaya Pravda "What is the purpose of the All-Ukrainian Cross Procession?"
"The Cross Procession, its east and west branches, will meet in the city of Kiev, more precisely, in European Square, before ascending the Vladimir Hill at 12:30, 27 July. There will meet all the people who have been walking in the Procession, from the West and from the East," he said.
"Then at 13:00, a traditional prayer service will be celebrated on the Vladimir Hill. After the prayer all believers who have come or arrived to take part in the prayer service, the clergy, the bishops, led by our Primate, will traditionally go in the Cross Procession to the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, where there will be evening services. The next day, July 28, at 9 a.m., in the square before the Dormition Cathedral the Divine Liturgy will begin, followed by festivities dedicated to the day of the baptism of Rus’," said Archimandrite Viktor (Kotsaba).
The head of the Administrative apparatus said that, for security reasons the believers will have to go through metal detectors, which are going to be not many, "given the huge number of people that will come, it may slow their passage. So I would like to call on everyone that will be coming – to come to the Vladimir Hill in advance, at 10 am".
"I urge all people of good will to bring peace together into the history of our state. Come and take part in the prayer service on the Vladimir Hill", he concluded.
