“We came, we opened, we occupied”: how the Kiev Patriarchate admitted church raiding of the UOC (VIDEO)
A priest from the Rovno diocese of the UOC of the Kiev Patriarchate revealed the truth about how “Filaret” adherents grabbed churches of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the 1990s.
In his interview to “Hromadske television” before the beginning of the Ukrainian UOC-KP procession on July 28, father Yevgeniy from Rovno diocese of the UOC KP told how in his region congregations pass from the UOC to the UOC KP. Hereby he said everything has to be done within the law framework, via courts.
"One cannot sit idle like it was in the 90s: we came, we opened, we occupied a church – and here we are, done, - shared the priest. – Now it has to be resolved in a judicial procedure, it’s necessary to have lawyers, to be sophisticated and strive to do it. Well, we are doing our best.”
He added the KP representatives will involve the power into this takeover process.
The UOJ has repeatedly given coverage of the illegal church seizures, especially in the Western Ukraine, where the schismatics could dispose of churches with the help of active assistance or, as a minimum, silent connivance of the power.
