At the Holy Transfiguration traditional cross procession will come to Pochaev Lavra

On August 19, the day of the Transfiguration of the Lord a prayer procession will start from Kamenetz-Podolskiy to the Holy Dormition Pochaev Lavra, according to a 100-year tradition, reports the Information and Education Department of the UOC.

Every year, after the festive liturgy at the St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral of Kamenetz-Podolskiy the believers will set off. They are supposed to come to the Pochaev Lavra on the feast day – the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin.

Over the course of a long history of thousands of pilgrims have joined the cross procession. The faithful cover 210 kilometers – from Kamenetz-Podolskiy to Pochaev. The procession The believers from Kamenetz-Podolskiy, Chernivtsi, Volyn, Odessa and other dioceses of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, as well as pilgrims from abroad, annually participate in the procession, which lasts for a week.

Recall, on August 15 believers held a cross procession from the village of Golynchintsy, Shargorod region, Vinnitsa region, to the Valley of Josaphat, where a prayer and Liturgy were served. The procession was attended by more than three thousand pilgrims.
