Primate of the UOC: if a man does not go the God's way, even gaining the world he will not find peace of mind

Only God's blessing makes a man happy. This was stated by His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kiev and All Ukraine during his sermon on the first day of the Dormition Fast, 14 August, reports the Information and Education Department of the UOC.

Metropolitan Onuphry said that on that day the Holy Church carries forth the Venerable Wood of the Life-Creating Cross of the Lord. "The Holy Cross is carried forth for veneration so that we receive the gracious power that a person needs to adequately carry out their earthly life," he stressed.

His Beatitude said that a man must live the commandments to get the God’s blessing. "The man who goes the God's way can be rich and poor, educated and ordinary; whatever he is, he is happy, – said His Beatitude. – He may seem to be suffering but such a man is blessed."

On the contrary, a man who lives according to their own laws has no joy in life. "If a man does not go this way, even gaining the world he will not find peace of mind. He may look joyful, happy, but in fact he is suffering and already partaking of the first fruits of hell," said Metropolitan Onuphry.

"May God help us go that way, where there is a blessing of God, and where salvation in the Lord Jesus is awaiting us in the end of this path," called on His Beatitude.

Recall, 14 August, about 5 thousand pilgrims gathered to receive blessings of His Beatitude Onuphry, who served the Liturgy at St. Anna’s convent, located in Vashkovtsy, Chernivtsi region.
