Security Service of Ukraine caught a UOC-KP priest taking half-a-million bribe for ATO veterans’ land (VIDEO)

The Security Service of Ukraine in Rovno caught the village chairman red-handed: the exactor demanded UAH 500 000 from the entrepreneur for allocating the latter 1,5 hectares of the land (10 plots) which had been actually planned for the local community and ATO veterans. It is reported by the Evening Rivne.

The ‘dramatis persona’ is Mihail Oleynik, Zorya village chairman, Rovno district. He is also a leader of the religious community of the UOC Kiev Patriarchate in village Starozhuki of Rovno district and senior priest of St. Michael church of the UOC KP.   


SBU officials apprehended the bribe-taker at the car parking lot near Rovno Regional State Administration while he was being given the sum of improper advantage. A criminal action has been started against him under part 3, article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (bribe taking). 

Investigative actions are pending in order to establish other probable cases of bribe-taking by the malefactor.
