Metropolitan Luka (Kovalenko): Ministry of UOC Primate is purity of soul, prayers, and tears for each of us (VIDEO)

The second anniversary of the enthronement and presidency at the oldest chair of Kiev Metropolitans of Metropolitan Onuphry of Kiev and All Ukraine is a landmark event for the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. This was said by Metropolitan Luka of Zaporozhie and Melitopol, reports a UOJ correspondent.

"Our parishioners noticed a colour dissonance – the bishops are in white and yellow robes, and our Primate – in red. The question answers itself – well, for him today is Easter, he became the head of our Church," the Bishop stressed.

According to him, people do not know what the bishop's ministry, true service to his people, his Church is. "It's really cross-carrying, and white and red colours of our Primate are the purity of his ministry, the purity of his soul, the purity of his prayers, and red is his blood. It's his bloody tears, which he pours out for each of us, for all the parishioners of our church," he said.

"Today I'd like to wish our Primate to have more white in his life. I wish more joyful events would happen to you, Your Beatitude. In the spiritual sense – may you always have the grace of God, and so may we, all the faithful children of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, canonical and most salutary for every Ukrainian," concluded the Bishop.
