Patriarch Kirill wishes God's help to Trump
The Moscow Patriarchate is hoping that the victory of Donald Trump in the U.S. presidential elections will positively impact the international situation.
"The present-day world is facing serious problems, and the United States plays a major role in their settlement. Countering extremism and terrorism, defending fundamental values of high moral ideals underlying the rights and dignity of the people is possible only through joint efforts," Patriarch Kirill said in his letter to Donald Trump.
Trump’s victory was also commented in the Vatican. Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin said that the Catholic Church respects the choice of the American people and congratulated Trump. Cardinal promised to pray for the new incumbent to be "enlightened." "We pledge to pray that God enlightens him and supports him in the service of his country of course, but also in the service of well-being and peace in the world," the Catholic Church's highest-ranking diplomat said.
As reported by the UOJ, Ukrainian children have received the blessing of the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church on pilgrimage in Russia.
