Russian Orthodox Church will offer prayers for revolution victims on its 100 anniversary

Such decision was made by the Bishop’s Synod of the Russian Church Outside Russia, which session took place in New-York and was chaired by Metropolitan of Eastern America and New-York Hilarion.

“The Bishop’s Synod resolved to hold a Bishop’s Council of the ROCOR in Munich in June 9-15, 2017. The Council will be dedicated to the great consecration of the Cathedral of Russian Saint New Martyrs and Confessors in Munich,” the press-release details.

Apart from that, due to the oncoming centennial anniversary of October revolution, the Synod decided to make a special address to the clergy and parish for their consent to commemorate in prayers all those “who were innocently killed, suffered travails and ordeals, and died a bitter death in exiles and imprisonment during hard times,” in all temples of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia on special days of church commemoration of the departed.
