Construction works in Katerinovka under way: the community asks for prayerful support (PHOTO)
The villagers got together another time to break the ground for the church construction.
“Together with the UOC parishioners we went outside to clear the territory to begin construction works. Nobody had lived here for a long time, therefore we had a lot to do. We have cleared the territory from trees and weeds. We have yet to remove the clay left from the old house which used to be here”, recounts senior priest Sergiy Gladun.
“We keep praying for peace and dreaming of a new church. We ask all considerate people to help us prayerfully, or contribute to the fund-raising. Only by joint efforts will we be able to raise a temple,” calls on everybody the priest.
The community of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Katerinovka became the first participant of the charitable foundation “Favor” program called “40 churches”. The Foundation appeals to all stakeholders to take part in the church construction.
As it was reported by UOJ, on 21 September 2015 members of the Kiev Patriarchate, using the support of the Rihe oght Sector, seized the temple of Saint George in Katerinovka village of Ternopol village.
