UOJ accused of “separatism” for protecting UOC community in Ptichya

With the police being inactive, on April 2 followers of the UOC KP took over the temple of the UOC in Ptichya

The NGO did not like the fact that the “Union of Orthodox Journalists” highlighted the developments around the temple of the UOC in Ptichya village of Dubno district, Rovno region, which had been illegally seized by members of the Kyiv Patriarchate. "We call on all authoritative civil servants, representatives of law enforcement agencies, councilors of all levels to defend the Ukrainian village of Ptichya in its struggle against the expansion of the Russian world," reads the letter of the "Regional Veterans’ Union of ATO participants of Rovno region. “Tomorrow, on April 18, 2018, in the village of Ptichya, negotiations will be held between the villagers and representatives of the Moscow Patriarchate. The society seeks to end the conflict and is ready to consider reasonable and objective proposals from opponents. At the same time, "clergymen" of the Moscow Patriarchate are flocking to the village from all over Ukraine together with the propagandist channel "UOJ", which is preparing video materials for Russian and separatist media."

Activists called to protect "the community of Ptichya village from oppression and aggression on the part of supporters of the "Russian world".

On April 2, 2018, Dubno court recognized the right of the UOC community to the temple in Ptichya. On the same day during the night the temple was grabbed by the members of the Kyiv Patriarchate. As a result of confrontation, a parishioner of the UOC was sent to the hospital with serious head injuries. Now the temple is again under arrest. On April 18, negotiations are to be held about the future fate of the church. The community of the UOC has repeatedly stated that it is committed to peace and is ready to provide all support to the UOC-KP in the construction of their own church.
