Metropolitan of Montenegro: Autocephaly for schismatics is madness

Metropolitan Anthony of Borispol and Brovary and Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral

The Hierarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church prays for peace in Ukraine. He said about this during a meeting with the Chancellor of the UOC, Metropolitan Anthony of Borispol and Brovary.

"We pray that the Lord will grant peace and brotherly love to the Ukrainian people," said Metropolitan Amfilohije. "We regret that there are schisms that support the fratricidal war. This is insanity, which is understandable for all Orthodox, for all normal people."

Vladyka Amfilohij expressed hope that Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople would not support the initiative of Ukrainian politicians to establish the SLC.

"We hope that the Ecumenical Patriarch will not accept or support this madness for entire Orthodoxy, for the unity of the Church," said the Metropolitan of Montenegro. "God grant peace and blessings so that the canonical structure of the Church and the fullness of the Church will be maintained for the existence of Kievan Rus and for the benefit of the whole Orthodoxy in the modern world."
