In Ivano-Frankovsk eparchy radicals beat believers of UOC

Holy Trinity Church of the Ivano-Frankovsk eparchy

Right-wing radicals from the organization "Right Sector" took over the premises at the Holy Trinity Church of the UOC, located in the village of Bogorodchany, Ivano-Frankovsk region, reports the Information and Education Department of the UOC.

On September 28, local residents, parishioners of the Holy Trinity Church, found out that the head of the "Right Sector" was gathering people near the church to take over the temple. Therefore, the believers arrived at the scene to prevent the raider seizure.

According to eyewitnesses, activists entered the premises of the Metropolitan Chambers at the Holy Trinity Church through the courtyard. Having broken in, the radicals attacked the parishioners who were inside. As a result, several people were seriously injured – two men had their arm broken, one got a concussion. The rector of the church Father Vladimir Shuvar was kicked out into the street. Having thus expelled all the parishioners, the raiders changed their locks.

As the eyewitnesses report, everything happened so quickly that no one had time to record what was happening on camera.

At the moment, the situation on the scene remains tense.
