Ternopol eparchy builds a new temple instead of the one seized by UOC KP

The procedure of laying the cornerstone of the temple in honor of Archangel Michael in the village of Bashuki

On October 20, in the village of Bashuki of Ternopil region, the believers began the construction of a church in honor of the Holy Archangel Michael, reports the website of Ternopol eparchy. Their first temple was broken into by the dissenters in June 2015. The rector and the congregation were never let in there afterwards.

The laying of the cornerstone for the new church in honor of the Holy Archangel Michael of God was made by Metropolitan Sergiy of Ternopol and Kremenets, in co-service with all the priests of the deanery. His Eminence thanked the villagers and benefactors and wished them to finish the construction safely.

In 2015, the schismatics committed a raid seizure of the church in the village of Bashuki. The struggle for the temple lasted for two years. The authorities of the region backed up the invaders, set in motion the machinations with the state register and forgery of documents. In the fall of 2017, Metropolitan Sergiy of Ternopol and Kremenets consecrated a plot of land for the construction of a new church.
