Expert: Tomos helped President to raise his rating in pre-election race
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko
December 28, 2018, published the results of sociological surveys, according to which the rating of the current President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has increased, reports the online edition “The Left Bank”.
Irina Bekeshkina, the head of the Democratic Initiatives Foundation named after I. Kucheriv, which conducted the survey, links the increase in Poroshenko’s supporters with the events around the Tomos.
“16% among those who are ready to go to the elections will vote for Yulia Timoshenko. Next is Petro Poroshenko, whose rating has increased over this time. I think this is primarily due to the events around the Tomos,” the expert commented on the results of the survey.
The data presented by I. Bekeshkina are obtained after questioning 2,017 adult Ukrainians. Respondents were interviewed in all regions of Ukraine from December 19 to December 25.
According to another sociological survey conducted by the foundation, 24% of the adult population of Ukraine considers the creation of the OCU and the bestowal of the Tomos as the main political event of the passing 2018.
