Believers of Kalynivka village, Zhytomyr region, declared loyalty to UOC

The religious community of the church of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos in the village of Kalynivka unanimously supported the UOC

On March 9, 2019, the clergy and parishioners of the church of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos in the village of Kalynivka, Zhytomyr region, gathered for a prayer standing, the press service of the Zhytomyr Diocese reports.

On the same day, on the initiative of the village council, a meeting of the village was held to allegedly account for the year, but at the end of the meeting the question of the local church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church was raised.

Despite the request of the initiative group of people interested in moving the church to the OCU, the rector of the church, Priest Alexander Khrustiuk, refused to participate in a possible vote and joined the prayer of the parishioners in the church.

After the prayer, the parishioners unanimously expressed their support for the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church, headed by His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry.

As reported by the UOJ, on March 10, believers of the UOC in the village of Baranovka, Zhytomyr region, managed to defend their church.
