On August 3, 2019, the International cross procession, which was attended by pilgrims from Poland, Belarus and Ukraine, arrived at the Holy Assumption Pochaev Lavra, the UOC Information and Education Department reports.
The cross walkers, having covered more than 300 kilometers in two weeks, were received at the Lavra’s gates by the brethren of the holy monastery.
After words of gratitude for the work that was done, everyone was sprinkled with holy water and a meal was offered to the pilgrims.
On August 4, on the eve of the commemoration of the Pochaev Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos, at 14:00 in the Transfiguration Cathedral of the Lavra there began small vespers with an akathist before the miraculous image, at 17:00 – vespers and matins.
On the holiday, August 5, two Divine Liturgies will be served: at 5:00 – the early Liturgy (Transfiguration Cathedral), at 9:00 - the late Liturgy (Transfiguration Cathedral). After the end of the liturgy, a procession will be held across the territory of the Lavra, during which the miraculous Icon will be transferred to the Assumption Cathedral.
Recall, on August 31, 2019, a cross procession from Zdolbunov (Rovno Region) arrived at the Pochaev Lavra. More than 500 believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church were participants in this procession.
On August 1, a cross procession from Ivano-Frankovsk arrived at St. Pochaev mountain, with 250 Orthodox Christians participating in it.
On August 2, on the day of remembrance of the holy prophet of God Elijah, a traditional annual cross procession with the miraculous Pochaev Icon of the Mother of God from the Virlia urochische (tract – Ed.) to the Pochaev Lavra took place.
