Supporters of the OCU from the village of Mashcha, Kostopol District, Rivne Region demanded that the employees of the district police department protect them from “persecution” by the UOC. This was reported on Facebook by the UA: Rivne television channel.

Parishioners of the OCU accused the UOC of allegedly financing “titushkas” who beat local residents.

We will remind that on the night of January 2 to 3, 2020, two dozen young men from among the OCU supporters with bats attacked four UOC believers who were on duty at St. John the Theologian church in Mashcha. Bruises, dislocations, broken heads and a lot of blood – this is how the activists of the OCU dealt with the young people guarding the temple. At that time, the police were hiding in the car.

On January 4, 2020, unknown people threw a container with a combustible mixture into the courtyard of the UOC priest in Mashcha. “At 7:00 we called the police,” said the priest’s wife, matushka Anna. “They arrived, examined, recorded something and left. The same story happened last time, so the work of law enforcement officers has little effect. I think they don't even bother about looking for intruders.”

On the morning of January 20, 2020, activists of the OCU seized the temple of the canonical Church in the village of Mashcha for a second time.
