Representative of Romanian Orthodox Church arrives in Jordan

On February 25, 2020, a delegate of the Romanian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Niphon of Targoviste, arrived at the Queen Alia International Airport, which is located near Amman, the capital of Jordan. The hierarch was met at the airport by the Patriarchal Epitropus in Amman, Archbishop Christopher, reports orthodoxjordan.org resource.

The Romanian Archbishop flew to Jordan at the invitation of Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem to participate in the Council of Primates of the Local Orthodox Churches.

Earlier, the Head of the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia, Metropolitan Rostislav, arrived to participate in the Synaxis of Primates.

As reported by the UOJ, the Primates’ Council in Jordan will be held at the initiative of Patriarch Theophilos of Jerusalem and will be devoted to the "Ukrainian issue", as well as a number of other pressing problems of World Orthodoxy.
