On February 29, 2020, Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral, in his sermon before the procession in Podgorica, which he led together with the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kiev and all Ukraine for supporting the Serbian Orthodox Church in Montenegro. This was reported by the UOJ correspondent.

“We sincerely thank His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry and on his behalf, on behalf of the 20 hierarchs who have gathered here, on behalf of the huge number of people, we demand from our President, Prime Minister and Parliament of Montenegro that this anti-Montenegrin, anti-Serbian, anti-European law be abolished and that the truth of God triumph for the sake of their dignity and that of Montenegro,” said Metropolitan Amfilohije.

He expressed hope that the authorities would abolish the anti-church law, "if they want Montenegro to remember them as fair and honest people."

“But if they want to lose their dignity and their soul before their descendants and become the most shameful group that ruled Montenegro, then they will leave everything as it is. But we hope that they will not do that,” he stressed.

As reported by the UOJ, on February 29, 2020, in Podgorica, more than 100,000 believers took part in the cross procession to celebrate the Feast of St. Symeon the Myrrh-Gusher, which was led by the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kiev and All Ukraine, and Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral.
