Kiev authorities ban mass divine services till the end of March

In connection with the introduction of quarantine due to coronavirus, mass services will not be held in the Ukrainian capital, and sanitary control will be carried out at the entrances to religious buildings reports the "Unian" agency with reference to the Protocol of the meeting of the Standing Commission on Environmental Safety and Emergency Situations of the KСSA.

The Department of Culture and the Main Department of the State Consumer Service have been instructed to prepare the necessary appeals to the heads of religious organizations in Kiev.

The protocol obliges "... to prepare an appeal to the heads of religious institutions of Kiev to stop mass worship and prevent the spread of new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in Kiev and establish entry sanitary control”.

According to the protocol, restrictive measures are valid until March 31 inclusive.
