On March 13, with the blessing of Metropolitan Varsonofy (Stoliar) of Vinnytsia and Bar, the Vinnytsia Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church announced the adoption of measures in connection with the announcement of quarantine due to the spread of coronavirus.
According to the decision, each Divine Liturgy will be followed by special prayer requests, and the clergy will be blessed to perform a set of preventive measures.
In particular, wet cleaning with the use of antiseptic agents should be carried out more often in temples, and sacred objects worshiped by believers should be wiped with alcohol-containing solutions before and after services.
Parishioners must be provided with drinking water and disposable tableware, as well as a place for its disposal. In addition, it is necessary to provide free access to washing or treating hands with antiseptic agents.
Priests must ensure that the temples are properly ventilated, especially during divine services, and that the drinks served to the believers after communion should be poured into disposable cups.
As reported earlier, the UOC hierarch gave recommendations on how to behave in the temple in connection with the coronavirus.
