On March 18, 2020, a meeting of the Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church will be held at the Kyiv Caves Lavra.
The meeting will discuss current issues in the life of the Church. In particular, the members of the Synod will address the problem of holding services under conditions of the declared quarantine due to the epidemic of coronavirus, as well as the necessary hygienic measures of conduct in temples.
We will recall that on March 16, President Vladimir Zelensky announced the introduction of quarantine in Ukraine due to the epidemic of coronavirus. "I urge the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine <...> to ban mass events with the participation of more than 10 people, including rites and ceremonies. I ask leaders of all Churches to understand this situation when there is a threat to human health and life," the President said in his video address.
