The Security Service of Ukraine opened criminal proceedings because of a video in which the song “The ringing of bells is rising over Russia” is performed after a prayer service in the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. This was reported by the press service of the department.
The report says that the investigation is carried out under Part 1 of Art. 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – "justification, recognition of lawful, denial of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants."
"Those who, amid the full-scale war unleashed by Russia against Ukraine, are waiting for the ‘awakening of Mother Rus’ should understand that this harms the security and interests of Ukraine and our citizens. And we will not allow such manifestations," SBU chief Vasyl Maliuk said.
Recall that the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra commented on the situation with the performance of a song about Russia.
The UOJ also reported that the UOC considered the increased interest in the video from the Lavra strange.
