Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he is aware of the situation around the "Russian" singing in the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, but believes that everyone must be accountable by law. He said this on the air of the national telethon, answering the question of the head of "Radio NV" Oleksiy Tarasov, who called the UOC "an internal enemy".
"They (UOC - Ed.) do not have any, as they say, protection totem. We do not interfere, but they have no such protection. They have to answer just like any other person," the President said and added that he was aware of the case in the Lavra. “I know that criminal proceedings were initiated. This is the only way according to the law. How else can one deal with such things?"
As earlier reported, the SBU opened criminal proceedings over the video from the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.
