Russia cannot consider the Vatican as a venue for possible negotiations between representatives of Moscow and Kiev. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova wrote this on her Telegram channel.
This is how she reacted to Cardinal Pietro Parolin's words that talks on Ukraine's war with Russia could take place in the Vatican.
"I'm afraid my Chechen and Buryat brothers and I didn't appreciate it. As far as I remember, no words of apology from the Vatican were uttered by anyone," Zakharova added.
As a reminder, Pope Francis called the Buryats and Chechens the most brutal part of the Russian army.
As reported, the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, said the Pope has become a victim of propaganda by the Western media, and the head of the Russian Buddhists called the pontiff's words "unkind."
Earlier, the Vatican's Foreign Minister said that he was ready to organize negotiations between Ukraine and Russia.
