On April 2, 2020, the priest of the Presentation of the Theotokos temple in Teremki-1 in the city of Kiev held an unusual cross procession under the coronavirus quarantine, which was recorded by the surveillance camera, the temple’s website reports.
An unusual event took place after a water blessing prayer for protection against coronavirus, which, in accordance with quarantine requirements, was held without the participation of believers.
“After a water blessing prayer for protection against the coronavirus (in conditions of compliance with sanitary standards, under which assembly of people is forbidden) instead of people, pigeons came to the procession. They followed the priest along a deserted street, rejoiced in sprinkling with holy water, and new ones joined them. Part of this procession was recorded by an external surveillance camera. The pigeons accompanied the priest to the end and then lined up on the site in front of the temple,” the report says.
Part of the unusual procession was recorded by a video camera.
As reported by the UOJ, the Primate of the UOC blessed all dioceses to participate in the fight against the pandemic.
