On January 27, Rasmus Paludan, who previously burned the Koran in front of the Turkish embassy in Sweden, burned the Koran in front of a mosque in Copenhagen, circled by the police, Aftonbladet newspaper reported.
He also said that he would repeat his action in front of the Turkish embassy in Copenhagen every Friday until "Sweden is admitted to NATO."
He also promised that when Erdogan accepts Sweden into NATO, he will never do it in front of the Turkish embassy again.
As the UOJ reported, on January 21, 2023, despite the protests of the Turkish authorities, Rasmus Paludan, leader of the Danish far-right Hard Deal party, held a rally with the burning of the Koran in Stockholm near the Turkish embassy. Thus, Paludan protested to Turkish President Erdogan, who is blocking the admission of Sweden to NATO. Erdogan, in turn, said that Stockholm should not wait for the ratification of the agreement on joining the Alliance after Sweden officially allowed to burn the Koran.
