The Ukrainian President's representative in parliament, Fedir Venyslavskyy, said in an interview with RBC-Ukraine that MPs will soon vote for the law banning the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

According to him, at the moment the relevant bill is already under consideration in the VR committees:

"The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has registered the relevant bill. It is being considered by the committees," the MP said. “There is time for introducing alternative drafts. As soon as the procedural terms stipulated by the law on the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine expire, a relevant committee will give its approval, and the likelihood that it will find a sufficient number of supporters in the hall is very high. I think that we will pass this law in the near future.”

As reported, an EU MP, Mykola Kniazhytskyy, said that the Cabinet's draft law on banning the UOC will not stop its activity and be appealed against in European courts.
