Alexander Tkachenko nominated for the post of Minister of Culture

On June 1, 2020, the MP of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine from the Servant of the People faction, Alexander Kachura, announced that his faction had unanimously voted for the candidacy of Alexander Tkachenko for the post of Minister of Culture.
“Alexander Tkachenko will be the new Minister of Culture. The faction supported him almost unanimously,” Mr. Kachura wrote on his Telegram channel.
A. Tkachenko is an MP from the Servant of the People faction and head of the Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
In August 2019, he was awarded the title of Honorary President of the group in “1 + 1 Media” “for his great contribution and 11-year uninterrupted work at the company”.
According to the Strana.ua online publication, Tkachenko is also one of the candidates for mayor of Kiev.
Earlier, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Vladimir Borodyansky refused to work in the new government led by Denis Shmygal.
