Georgy Kovalenko, a cleric of the OCU, said that not only religious structures, but also the state should take care of the transition to the new calendar. He spoke about this at the Ukrinform media center.
"If the majority of religious communities and Greek Catholics, some Protestants switch to a new style, it will be a turn for our MPs or the Cabinet of Ministers to decide what style these public holidays will adopt," Kovalenko said.
As reported by the UOJ, on February 6, the UGCC announced the adoption of a new calendar style from September 2023. The OCU reported that it is also into a calendar reform, whose launch will be announced for May 2023.
