At the Divine Liturgy in all churches of the Cherkasy Eparchy, with the blessing of Metropolitan Theodosy of Cherkasy and Kaniv, a special prayer will be read for the Church that suffers from persecution, reports the website of the Cherkasy Eparchy.
In the circular letter, it is indicated that the Church is being persecuted through the closure of Lavras and monasteries, seizure of churches, official parliamentary calls for the prohibition of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC), and a number of criminal cases against representatives of the Church.
As reported, earlier Metropolitan Theodosy of Cherkasy and Kaniv stated that the faithful of the Church will definitely survive these times, but how exactly – kneeling or maintaining dignity – depends on the believers themselves.
