The OCU is "a bone in the throat of the aggressor" and the case initiated because of its creation demonstrates that "the criminals in power are completely crazy." The fifth president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said this on July 1, 2020, at the building of the Pechersky District Court of Kyiv, which should choose a preventive measure in one of the cases opened against the ex-head of state.

Poroshenko thanked the supporters gathered near the court and listed some of the charges brought against him by "these criminals in power, these Putin’s proteges".

“In order to demonstrate that they are completely crazy, they accuse Petro Poroshenko of inciting interfaith hostility, received Tomos for the Orthodox Church of Ukraine and created an Orthodox Church independent of Moscow, which is a bone in the throat of the aggressor. Write – I admit that, too. Moreover, you and I have saved Ukraine, and now we will not allow them to seize or lease Ukraine to the Kremlin,” said the ex-president of Ukraine.

We recall that the day before, Petro Poroshenko said he would not cast a stone at Filaret because of the Tomos case and suggested considering the "official version" that the case against him was opened on an application by Mikhail Dobkin.
