On June 12, 2023, OCU activists attacked the monks of the UOC after an evening meal in the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. The UOJ was told about this by the Lavra's resident, Fr. Samuil.

According to him, about 20 activists came to the Lavra building 53A just as an evening meal was being served inside the building.

He noted that some of the activists broke into the building and tried to get into the kitchen and the refectory.

Also, Fr. Samuil said that the activists hit one of the monks of the Lavra on the leg and tried to step on the cassocks of other monks.

“The activists came up from behind, tried to step on the monks’ feet, hit their legs, trip them up. The police didn't interfere. They were asked to but in the end, the monks just had to leave so that the situation would not worsen even more,” he said.

As the UOJ reported, activists staged a provocation against His Beatitude in the Lavra.
