Participants in the meeting of the Council of Heads of Cossack Organizations of Ukraine called on the Zaporizhzhia mayor to cancel the LGBT action scheduled for September 20. The text of the appeal was published by the press service of the Zaporizhzhia Eparchy of the UOC.

“The sin promoted by this march tarnishes human dignity,” the appeal says.

Anyone who allows this event to be held in Zaporizhzhia becomes an accomplice in what kills morality, personality and the human soul. Public events of the LGBT community are destroying our culture and corrupting our people."

On behalf of the Cossacks’ leaders, the document was signed by the head of the UOC Synodal Department for the Pastoral Care of the Cossacks, Metropolitan Luke of Zaporizhzhia.

The authors of the appeal are sure that the ultimate goal of the LGBT movement is the fight against the individual, and the destruction of moral norms poses a threat to the existence of society and the state.

Representatives of the Cossacks called on the authorities "to make a wise decision and prevent the decay of our society".

As reported earlier, the Zaporizhzhia Eparchy prayed to cancel the LGBT parade.
