On June 19, 2023, the Court of Appeal changed the measure of restraint for the deputy of the Kyiv City Council Yaryna Aryeva from Eurosolidarity, suspected of committing an accident on drugs. She was placed under round-the-clock house arrest, reports UNN.
The publication claims that the prosecutor's office petitioned to keep Aryeva in custody.
"The court partially satisfied the appeal of the prosecutor's office, overturned the decision of the court of first instance and adopted a new one, applying to the suspect a preventive measure of round-the-clock house arrest with an electronic control device," the Kyiv prosecutor's office said.
Recall that Yarina Aryeva was repeatedly seen at rallies near the Lavra. She administered social media groups where activists coordinated their activities against the UOC. Also, with her assistance, the Eurosolidarity office opposite the Lavra became the unofficial headquarters of the activists, where they kept equipment, rested and socialized.
Aryeva is accused of hitting a woman at the crossing while under the influence of drugs. As a result, the latter received severe injuries: fractures of the clavicle and jaw with traumatic extraction of teeth, fractures of limbs, closed craniocerebral trauma and other injuries.
In turn, Aryeva on Facebook blamed the UOC for the conclusions of the drug examination: “For the past two months, I have actively participated in actions against the UOC near the Lavra. The hierarchs of the Moscow Patriarchate have a great influence on law enforcement agencies, and this is clearly a planned defamation.”
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that according to the MP of Eurosolidarity Volodymyr Aryev, drugs were found in his daughter's blood because of her activity near the Lavra.
