On June 26, 2023, a meeting of a group of local residents of Khmelnytskyi took place. It was "decided" to transfer the UOC parish of Holy Martyrs Faith, Hope, Love and their Mother Sophia to the OCU as reported by the press service of the Khmelnytskyi Eparchy (UOC).
The meeting, which was held behind a public transport stop in Panas Myrny Street, was attended by representatives of the public sector of the neighbourhood, in particular workers of schools and kindergartens, whom the authorities urged to come to the event and vote.
According to the press service of the Khmelnytskyi Eparchy, 208 participants were registered at the meeting, but around 120 actually came.
At the same time, an authorized parish meeting of the UOC community was also held, which was attended by 380 believers. The parishioners and clergy, who gathered outside the temporary church, voted unanimously to remain in the Ukrainian Orthodox Church under the omophorion of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry.
As reported, on 26 August 2022, the Khmelnytskyi City Council deprived the community of Sts Faith, Hope, Love and their Mother Sophia of their right to use the land plot, and on 22 June 2023, city council deputies decided to transfer the plot for the construction of a kindergarten.
