14 July 2023 "head of the DNR" D. Pushilin said on his Telegram channel that the clergy of the two eparchies of the UOC – Donetsk and Mariupol and Horlivka and Slaviansk – allegedly expressed a desire to move to the Russian Orthodox Church.

"I sincerely support the decision of the clergy of the Donetsk and Mariupol, as well as Horlivka and Slaviansk eparchies, to join the Russian Orthodox Church. I am convinced that this was a difficult but the right step," Pushilin said.

According to him, he "gave the relevant orders to the DNR Ministry of Justice to provide all the necessary support and speed up the procedure for document processing" in accordance with Russian law.

On the official resources of the mentioned eparchies, there are no messages "about joining the Russian Orthodox Church".

As earlier reported, the ROC "accepted the Berdiansk Eparchy into direct subordination to the patriarch".
