On 14 July 2023, the Solomiansky District Court of Kyiv decided to satisfy the prosecutors' petition and changed the measure of restraint for Metropolitan Pavel, the abbot of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, to stay in custody, a UOJ correspondent reports from the courtroom.

The bishop may remain at large in case of bail in the amount of 33 million hryvnias.

As earlier reported, Metropolitan Pavel said that he, as well as other bishops and representatives of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, are being tried for “not accepting those who commit lawlessness".
