Ukrainian teenagers will be taught how to educate their peers on gender, as well as sexual and reproductive health issues.

On October 20, the Norwegian Ambassador to Ukraine Erik Svedahl and the Executive Director of ICF “AIDS Foundation East-West” Elena Voskresenskaya signed an agreement on a joint project “Towards Rights and Gender Equality”, reports the Norwegian Embassy on its Facebook page.

The agreement is aimed at "empowering" adolescents in the Chernivtsi, Kharkiv, Kirovohrad and Poltava regions of Ukraine.

Project leaders will select active youth volunteers and leaders from key populations, who will deliver the “Journey4Life” training programme for their peers and jointly conduct social events in their communities to increase awareness about gender issues, human rights and sexual and reproductive health issues.

As reported, Ukraine has joined the project to promote gender equality.
