On the morning of August 26, 2023, the processionists from Kamyanets-Podilsky arrived at the Pochaiv Lavra, the UOJ correspondent reports.
With the singing of the Pascha troparion and “Christ is Risen!” chants, nearly 10 thousand pilgrims of the UOC entered the monastery. At the entrance, they were traditionally sprinkled with holy water by one of the monastery priests.
This year, the religious procession from Kamyanets-Podilsky to Pochaiv, which has been going on for almost 200 years, has faced enormous difficulties. The authorities of the Khmelnytsky region and the mayor of Kamyanets-Podilsky officially prohibited it. The TRC men handed out conscription notices to the male processionists. The authorities of Volochysk and the Ternopil RMA forbade the passage of pilgrims. The believers had to bypass the roads blocked by the police and activists through the fields.
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that the UOC cross procession to Pochaiv had entered the Ternopil region.
