From 10 to 18 August 2023, the 2nd World Orthodox Youth Meeting was held in Poland, reports the website orthodoxianewsagency.gr.

The Meeting attracted more than 140 applications, of which 70 were selected from Poland, Italy, Mexico, France, Albania, Finland, Australia, the United States, Canada, Greece, Germany and many other countries.

This year's participants represented 10 Local Orthodox Churches of the world.

The Meeting was organized by the non-profit international organization "Suprasl: A World Fellowship of Orthodox Youth" which operates with the blessing of His Beatitude Metropolitan Savva of Warsaw and All Poland.

“This year's Meeting was unique in that the participants not only participated in lectures and workshops of a spiritual and theological nature but two of the days of the event were devoted to a mini-training seminar on leadership skills. The training course was designed to help young people identify the needs of their communities and the initiatives that could meet those needs," said Mr. David Szejbut, one of the organizers of the Meeting.

In addition to the lectures, a local amateur theatre company under the direction of Joanna Troc presented an original play entitled “No One Can Be a Number” based on the life of Saint Maria Skobtsova of Paris.

Also, the participants of the World Orthodox Youth Meeting took part during the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Savior in the annual pilgrimage to Mount Grabarka, also known as the Holy Mountain of Poland.

After the Vigil for the feast of the Transfiguration of the Saviour, His Beatitude Metropolitan Savva of Warsaw and All Poland met with the participants of the Meeting, urging them to remain faithful to the Orthodox Church.
