The parishioners of the UOC successfully defended the Holy Spirit Church against attempted seizure by activists from the OCU, Greek Catholics, and officials, reports the Telegram channel "Word of Orthodoxy".
On the Sunday morning of September 3, the community held a liturgy in front of the church. Raiders did not approach the church.
To recall, on the evening of September 2, several dozen individuals attempted to force their way into the church. On July 30, outsiders, including Greek Catholics and representatives of other denominations, held a gathering in the village club, disguising it as a UOC community meeting for transitioning to the OCU. Among the initiators were the school principal, a Uniate priest's wife, and the village elder, Angela Hlushko. Using administrative resources, they persuaded local residents to participate in the meeting.
The actual UOC community, in which fixed membership is established and all parishioners are registered in the registration book, held its own meeting during which they unanimously confirmed their faithfulness to the UOC under the leadership of Metropolitan Onuphry.
