“Pro-Russian Pope”: OP rules out Vatican’s mediation with RF

Zelensky said that the Vatican can no longer be considered as a mediator in the negotiation process with the Russian Federation due to the “pro-Russianness” of Pope Francis. Spokesperson of the OP Mykhailo Podolyak stated this on Channel 24.

“There is no point in talking about a mediator called the Pope if he takes a pro-Russian position that is completely obvious to everyone. This was not the first time, but at first it was all somehow mixed there. That is, they pretended that we didn’t see it, but today it is clear that the person takes a pro-Russian position. Therefore, this has a very negative impact on the war,” Podolyak said.

According to him, Pope Francis has nullified the reputation of the Vatican, and, accordingly, this is “an absolute nullification of any mediation mission that the Vatican could perform.”

“After all, if a person clearly promotes Russia’s right to kill citizens of another country on another sovereign territory, this is promoting warfare. You just need to call things by their proper names. Therefore, the Vatican cannot have any mediation function, because it will be a function that will deceive Ukraine or justice,” said the OP representative.

He also expressed his conviction that the Pope “continues to nullify the influence of Catholicism on the world in general.”

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that according to the Pope, he spoke about the greatness of Russia because its heritage is wonderful.
